Solar Gazing

Join us for a "walk" around the solar system as we “visit” several planets in our auditorium. We will start and end our program with a solar viewing of the fiery furnace of the sun in the visitor center parking lot.

Our time outside will be spent viewing the sun through "time machines" (telescopes) specially equipped with solar lenses to protect your vision. The sun should never be viewed with the naked eye. Telescopes will be provided by Westminster Astronomical Society (WASI). This program is eligible for the Model B Junior Ranger Program.
