SDCI Display at National Night Out!

In honor of communities across the country that come together each year on the first Tuesday in August to learn about ways to deter crime, enhance neighborliness, and spur community involvement for everyone, please stop by to see our Soldiers Delight display at the annual National Night Out event hosted by the Owings Mills New Town Community Association at their "Central Park" common area located at the corner of New Town Boulevard and Fitch Hill Road in Owings Mills.

This event is popular and is always well-attended. Booths and displays are sponsored by many of the businesses which have establishments in the New Town area and all across Owings Mills. Restaurants will give away free samples of their food, including pizza and burgers. The Owings Mills Fire Department will provide demonstrations of their equipment and sirens. There will be music and dancing.

Our booth will display interesting artifacts from Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area and offer opportunities to learn how planting native landscaping supports natural ecosystems while we demonstrate how prescribed burns across the serpentine barrens at Soldiers Delight keep invasive plants at bay and spur germination of native seeds.

Hundreds of community residents attend each year! Come see what it is all about! Tuesday, August 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.!
